This tuneable antenna provides exceptional gain in the 30-108 MHz SINCGARS and VHF band compared to similarly sized passive antennas. Close attention to environmental and EMI design considerations combined with latest composites structural technology makes the 21- 120-01 suitable for helicopters and subsonic aircraft. Providing high reliability in harsh military environments, the 21-120-01 utilizes a strong, one-piece, glass-epoxy blade moulding surmounted by a rugged, aft-facing top loading plate that enhances gain throughout the VHF/ FM frequency band. The antenna is fitted to the airframe via an aluminum alloy baseplate which is intimately bonded into the blade structure and which also carries the RF and LCU interface connectors. The separate logic converter unit combines flash memory technology with MIL spec’d power supply in a MIL-STD-461 compliant package. LCU’s can be provided for most current generation digital transceivers.
