The 21-50-05-3 is a combined VHF/UHF blade antenna intended for the multiple roles of sonobuoy reception, AIS, sonobuoy command and PLS.
An N-type V/UHF connector is fitted to the aluminum base plate which supports a high strength glass-epoxy radome containing a 3-D wide band radiating element of high efficiency.
A separate external diplexer (part no 21-80-31) is available when it is required to split the VHF and UHF outputs.
Frequency of operation covers full VHF Sonobuoy receive and UHF communications band. The antenna can handle up to 60 Watts of UHF power.
