The 21-50-02 is a vertically polarized, omni-directional antenna compatible with airborne radios operating within the 30 MHz to 512 MHz frequency range. This antenna can handle 50 Watts of power and requires no external tuning. Use of a top loading element, which is shaped to prevent fouling of cables during ground handling and low level flight, also enhances VHF performance beyond that of the standard AS-3191 at the slight expense of UHF performance. Use of a surface deposited radiating element optimizes efficiency and the radiating element is DC grounded for lightning protection.
