The 20-50-20 is a very wide band, ground plane independent UHF/L Band antenna intended for vehicular, fixed base or ship borne use. When used with CAL’s 20-50-55 tripod, it can also act as a quick erect, stand alone base station antenna.
The design comprises a wide band, bi-cone radiating element contained within a high strength glass epoxy radome, which in turn is fitted with a metal CECOM mounting plate. Precision machined internal elements insure low VSWR and approximately constant gain throughout the wide frequency band. The antenna is filled with closed cell foam and fully sealed for environmental protection in worldwide conditions of service.
