The antenna that is supplied with a handheld radio is often a simple random length coil or a 1/4 wave non-ground independent, This is where the SMAHW477 excels, as it is a full 1/2 wave ground independent antenna individually tuned to give a low SWR < 1.5:1 plus a gain of more than 3dB and a bandwidth of more than 5 MHZ. The SMAHW477 will only fit UHF CB transceivers and scanners that have a SMA connection that is either protruding from the case or SMA connectors that have a 12mm or greater space to fit the antenna base. The SMAHW477 is made of tough nylon and is completely covered with a coating of thick polyolefin heat shrink, this makes a for a flexible and robust antenna that is suitable for most situations. The SMAHW477 is made in Australia at a factory at Ingleburn NSW and, as with all Rojone antennas, it has a 5 Year Warranty.
